Spinach Bread with Spinach Flour

Soft, fluffy, and packed with nutrients, this Spinach Bread is a wholesome twist on your classic loaf. Made with spinach flour, it’s a healthy and delicious option that pairs perfectly with soups, spreads, or simply toasted with ghee!


Ingredients:
  • Spinach Atta – 450 gm
  • Yeast – 15 gm
  • Salt – 5 gm
  • Sugar – 15 gm
  • Ghee – 20 ml
  • Water (warm) – 150 ml

Instructions:
  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat the oven to 70°C.
  2. Prepare the Dough
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients – spinach atta, yeast, salt, and sugar.
    • Gradually add warm water while mixing to form a soft, easy-to-handle dough.
    • Knead briefly until the dough comes together.
  3. First Proofing
    • Place the dough in the oven and let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Shape the Dough
    • Use two forks to gently release the dough from the sides of the bowl and transfer it onto a lightly floured surface.
    • Grease two bowls well and dust them with flour.
    • Divide the dough into two portions using the forks and transfer each portion into the greased bowls.
  5. Second Proofing
    • Place the bowls back in the oven and let the dough rest until it doubles in size again.
  6. Bake the Bread
    • Preheat the oven to 160°C.
    • Bake the dough for 25 minutes.
    • Remove from the oven, brush the tops with ghee, and bake again at 180°C for another 5-8 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool and Serve
    • Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for 15-20 minutes.
    • Slice and enjoy as desired.
